National Stroke Association Names the “Get Ahead of Stroke” Campaign the Most Impactful of 2017

We’re honored to announce that the Get Ahead of Stroke campaign, an initiative of the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery (SNIS), was named the most impactful campaign of 2017 by the National Stroke Association.

SNIS – in collaboration with DDC Public Affairs – launched the Get Ahead of Stroke campaign in the spring of 2016 with the ambitious goal of improving stroke systems of care across the country to ensure more patients survive stroke. Specifically, the campaign aims to improve the Three T’s of stroke care: Triage, Transport, and Treatment. This means giving EMS the tools they need to determine stroke severity and creating pre-hospital transport plans that make it easier to bring patients to the right hospital; it also means properly identifying hospitals that offer advanced stroke treatments.

Whether it’s collaborating on legislation, educating state health officials, telling the stories of stroke survivors, or launching large-scale public awareness events, Get Ahead of Stroke has made significant progress. These efforts have yielded tangible results in the form of updated stroke regulations and increased awareness among key stakeholders of the importance of this issue.

With the revolutionary technologies and skilled physicians available to effectively treat severe strokes, patients shouldn’t have to be lucky to survive stroke. It’s up to us to take luck out of the equation; that’s why we’re excited to continue supporting the Get Ahead of Stroke campaign on behalf of SNIS and stroke patients across the country.
