Vice President, R&D
John Constantine serves as DDC’s Vice President, R&D. John creates tangible value for clients by collaborating with the business and engineering teams to shape long-term vision, and oversees design and delivery of DDC’s ecosystem of distributed application components.
John has a diverse background in software systems, having held leadership roles in health care, computer security, web frameworks, and financial services. Previously, he worked directly with doctors to design and deliver custom, high-throughput monitoring and decision support software for the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at one of the premier pediatric, academic medical centers in the world. This system delivers real-time, high-resolution data, helping doctors view past events and identify long-term trends with 100 million patient observations per month. John’s experience in computer security includes voice biometrics, multi-factor authentication, and risk-based fraud prevention systems.
John studied computer science at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, after attending Canterbury School in New Milford, Connecticut. He also spent several years at sea sailing square-rigged ships and is a proud husband and father of three.
