Don Smialowicz

Chief Operating Officer

As COO, Don leads the technical and professional services teams that deliver DDC’s integrated suite of products and services. Providing leadership for this diverse set of cross-functional departments, he is responsible for designing and implementing the business strategies, processes and procedures that ensure DDC is positioned to deliver client value and meet business objectives.  Don also manages the company’s Human Resources function and chairs DDC’s committee on employee engagement.

Prior to being appointed COO, Don held the position of Executive Vice President in which he played a lead role in the company’s acquisition by The Omnicom Group.  As a senior member of the team overseeing the acquisition, he played a key role in managing the M&A due diligence process, negotiations, relationships with key stakeholders, and in setting the integration and change management strategy for the firm. In this position, Don also led a strategic restructuring of operations, a corporate rebranding initiative, and the relocation of operations from suburban Maryland to downtown Washington, D.C.

Before joining DDC, Don held positions of increasing responsibility across various industries with a focus on human resource management, organizational development, and establishing operational excellence. He received his M.B.A. from the University of Scranton in Scranton, PA and B.A. from Hobart College in Geneva, NY.
